Instructions for authors
All scientific papers submitted for publication are independently refereed, regardless of source. Details on how to prepare an article for the New Zealand Veterinary Journal can be found in our Instructions for authors.
Please read and follow these instructions carefully; doing so will ensure that the publication of your manuscript is as rapid and efficient as possible.
Animal Welfare and Ethics
All submissions are expected to meet the highest ethical and welfare standards, as detailed in the Journal’s instructions for authors. For any article that describes an experimental study using live animals, the study should have been conducted following consultation with an animal ethics committee, or equivalent and, where relevant, approval should have been obtained. Further information about obtaining AEC approval in New Zealand is provided here.
Brief guidelines for authors to consider when writing an article, before submission, can also be accessed here.
A style sheet showing the correct formatting for the NZVJ is provided here as a Word document to assist authors in preparing their manuscripts.
An EndNote style file for formatting NZVJ references is also available and can be obtained by contacting the Editorial office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Further information is available at Taylor&Francis Online
All submissions should be made online at the New Zealand Veterinary Journal ScholarOne Manuscripts site. New users should first create an account. Once logged on to the site, submissions should be made via the Author Centre.
