NZVA Board member position available
The New Zealand Veterinary Association is calling for applications for an appointed Board member for a term of one year, although this may be extended.
Under “section 22.214.171.124 of the NZVA Constitution an appointed Board Member shall be appointed from the Association's membership for an agreed term determined by the Elected Board Members and MAG Board Member”.
The current elected Board members are:
- Grant McCullough (President), Managing Director of Veterinary Hospital Group based in Auckland,
- Kate Hill, an Associate Professor at Massey University in Palmerston North, and
- Mark Bryan, the Managing Director of Vet South based in Winton.
The MAG Board member is Stephen Hopkinson, CEO of Taranaki Veterinary Centre based in Hawera, South Taranaki.
You don’t need to have prior governance experience, although it is useful. The NZVA Board is seeking an individual with a broad skill base and ability to bring diversity and/or inclusiveness to the table.
The time commitment is six face to face meetings – usually a day, once every two months, based in Wellington and approximately six shorter Zoom meetings about an hour in length. In addition, the Board requires attendance at the AGM and usually one or two strategy days per year.
