Veterinary Coordinator wanted

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills and a flair for planning to become our first Veterinary Coordinator. Your role will be to assist our Veterinary Services team in providing strong leadership and effective support to members of the NZVA.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating timely professional and personal support/advice to NZVA members
- Providing administrative support for the Veterinary Services team, including travel, diary management, and meeting logistics (including minute-taking)
- Coordinating revision of key NZVA Policies, Position Statements and Guidelines
- Coordinating special projects/activities as assigned by Chief Veterinary Officer
- Liaising with the Veterinary Services team and Special Interest/Regional Branch Committees to support Branch interests
To excel in this role, you will be highly efficient and able to prioritise, plan, and manage varied tasks simultaneously. You will be a confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, including an ability to relate to NZVA members and empathise with their perspectives.
Intermediate/advanced skills in all Microsoft applications is essential, and an understanding of online/cloud computing systems is desirable.
Ideally you will have a qualification in animal health and/or welfare, and experience working as a veterinarian, allied veterinary professional (e.g. veterinary technician; nurse), veterinary practice manager, or similar.
Experience in veterinary administration and/or exposure to the Not-for-Profit sector would also be considered valuable.
This role would suit somebody with a passion for animals and the veterinary profession, who wishes to deepen their understanding of the not-for-profit sector. Your role will be varied and interesting, and you will be well supported by the Veterinary Services team.
