Companion Animal Veterinarians

Member Resources

Our vision is a thriving companion animal veterinary profession in New Zealand. We work towards this by promoting and supporting all aspects of companion animal veterinary practice.

The branch was established in 1972 and is operated by a voluntary from around New Zealand. These veterinarians come from a broad range of backgrounds with practice owners, associate veterinarians, industry veterinarians and academics represented. Further support is given to the branch by an Operations Manager (Rochelle Ferguson) and a Newsletter Editor (Sarah Fowler).

The branch work encompasses supporting members’ education, keeping them up-to-date with topical issues in the companion animal field, promoting the value of companion animals in society, representing members’ interests, advocating for companion animal welfare and recognising the contributions that veterinarian members make to their communities.
