Introduction to Ultrasound (Improve International Australia)

This course will include ultrasonography of the normal abdominal organs, including the liver, spleen, gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary tracts. The most useful ultrasonographic measurements needed in assessments and clinical diagnosis and some common pathological conditions will also be considered.

About the course

Delegates will also gain a practical understanding of the physics of ultrasound, ultrasound machine set up and how to choose an ultrasound machine for their own practice. Both days include practical ‘hands-on’ scanning, accompanying notes and resources and the opportunity to liaise closely with the internal medicine and imaging specialists involved.

Sue Ramoo - BVSc (hons) MANZCVS (internal medicine)
Sue graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 and worked in general practice for 2 years, in a mixed practice on the central coast of NSW. She embarked on an internship in critical care and internal medicine, then commenced a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Melbourne. Since her residency she has worked in various referral practices in Victoria. Whilst she enjoys all things medical, her interests include diagnostic imaging, medical oncology and endocrinology.
