About the course

This highly practical two-day course is designed to improve your understanding of fracture mechanics and bone healing, and to give you confidence in decision making and applying your surgical skills when presented with a fracture. The emphasis of this course will be on the kind of cases that present on a regular basis in practice. Delegates will spend ample time practising techniques on plastic bones.


Learning outcomes

  • Assess a bone fracture and make an appropriate treatment plan

  • Understand and apply principles relating to bone healing, fracture biomechanics, and intramedullary pinning

  • Know how to avoid and treat complications

  • Use cerclage wiring and small pins Apply bone plates and screws
