NZVA in the Waikato region
Published date:
17 February 2012 On Monday 13 February, NZVA's Chief Executive, Julie Hood, and Veterinary Resources Manager, Wayne Ricketts, visited Hamilton in the first of a series of visits that form the NZVA's annual media visits programme.
The programme sees key NZVA representatives visit a variety of practices to discuss any issues and emerging trends specific to their area of practice and region.
On this trip Julie and Wayne visited Anexa Animal Health (Morrinsville), CareVets Chartwell, and Hamilton Veterinary Services to discuss any concerns and issues these practices had, enabling the NZVA to ensure these were all captured within their communications strategy for 2012.
Julie and Wayne also met with the Waikato Times, resulting in an article on the welfare of dairy cows appearing in Tuesday's paper.

NZVA representatives, along with Veterinary Advisor, Roger Marchant, finished the evening at the Waikato regional branch meeting - attended by just under 100 members - to discuss current salmonellosis concerns and to plan for the future.
Next visit
Julie and Wayne will visit the Hawkes Bay in March, where regional branch members are invited to attend a BBQ dinner with the NZVA Board on Thursday 1 March.
